A lot of people are working from home nowadays, whether it’s due to coronavirus or just starting a remote-based job. Although there are some challenges and adjustments that come with working from home, there are some helpful tips that may help ease the transition.

Here are some of them:

  • Dress as if you are going to the office. As tempting as it would be to wear your pajamas, it will create a wrong mindset for you. Dressing professionally will make you feel professional and motivated.
  •  If possible, choose a separate room as dedicated workspace, close the door to keep business in and family and pets out.
  • Set and stick to your work hours. It can help you to separate work time and home time.
  • Don’t forget to get some exercise. Taking a 10 minute walk on your break, get up from your desk and do some stretches.

Select a good background. You don’t want unnecessary distraction for whoever you are meeting with. Plan how you will take notes. Will you be writing it down on a pen and paper, or digital version and type your notes.

  • Educate your staff in understanding the difference between saving data on their desktop devices and on the network server or cloud service
  • Identify applications that are essential so you can priorities your focus on these to ensure they operate correctly, at speed and reliably.
