How the hack works
Bad Rabbit is ransomware that spreads via a fake Flash update on compromised websites. If clicked it will run a program that can lock you out of your computer and files and it will ask you to pay them to unlock your computer.

Bad Rabbit is based on an exploit that was stolen from the NSA. Microsoft patched that particular exploit in March. Currently the companies that have been targeted by this ransomware have been based in Russia and Ukraine, but it could easily spread to other countries.
