We’re only as good as our team, and they’re pretty awesome. Whenever we bring on a new team member, we like to introduce them (see all of our past team member introductions here). This month, we’d like to introduce you to one of our new helpdesk consultants, Aaron Allen.
- Name, and title and (to quote Office Space) “What would you say you do here?” My name is Aaron and I’m a Help Desk Consultant: I help get the gremlins out of the machines.
- Hometown and how did you end up where you are? I was born and raised in Jackson, TN. But after since high school I have been all over the place.
- How did you end up at Weston? Being married to a travel nurse, I have been looking for a remote job, but not just any remote it; it had to be a good fit for me and Weston exceeded my expectations.
- Favorite part about Weston? Getting to meet everyone as we all come from different walks of life.
- What do you do for fun in your spare time? I try to take advantage of what the local area I’m currently in offers as I travel around the country. And also video games. Lots of video games.
- What do in your spare time that nobody would guess? I’m a hobbying linguist. Always been interested in different languages.
- If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be? Definitely the technology singularity. I’m hoping SkyNet is benevolent in our timeline.
- What chore do you absolutely hate doing? Anything related to going under a house. Never been a fan of the crawl space.
- If you had to pick one word to describe yourself, what would it be? Hyper
- If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet? I would love to meet Saladin.
- Choose a movie title for the story of your life. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
- If there was a movie produced about your life, who would play you and why? Idris Elba. He has range. And a nice voice. And my movie should be animated.
- What do you want to be when you grow up? An Astronaut
- If you could have any one superpower, which would you choose? Omnipotence: Knowledge is power.
- What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done in your life? How much time do you have? If I had to choose one it would probably be jumping out of perfectly good airplanes.
- If you woke up tomorrow as an animal, what animal would you choose to be and why? A dragonfly. Statistically they are the most dangerous predator on earth. (Editor’s note: I didn’t believe this, but he’s right: They often catch up to 95% of the prey they go after, and they do it all mid-air).
- What is the worst pet you have ever had? A pet rock. It would not stop talking when the lights went out.
- How do you get your caffeine? Coffee. The stronger the better.
- What’s the strangest talent you have? I can clap with one hand.
- If you were on an island and could only bring three things, what would you bring? Hear me out: Whomever is the current US President, and two of the richest people in the world. Surely someone will come looking for them.
- Where’s Waldo? Probably hiding from all the people looking for him.
- A penguin walks through that door right now wearing a sombrero. What does he say and why is he here? “La princesa esta en otro castillo.” It’s a weird alternate-universe Mario thing.
- If I opened your fridge, what would I see? My secret portal to Narnia.
- Here’s $20. What are you going to do with it? Tell you to double it and give it to the next person.
- Is there something I should have asked but didn’t? “What’s your favorite book?” I would answer it, but you didn’t ask.
