If you do any sort of bulk email marketing at all, we generally recommend using a commercial service for that sort of thing to make sure you’re keeping compliant with all the various laws and not blacklisting your domains (this newsletter uses Mailchimp for that sort of thing). But what if you want to send out a nice looking email from Outlook to internal users, that was generally a pain to do so and you didn’t necessarily want to use the Mailchimps and the Constant Contacts of the world for that. However, Microsoft is looking to change that later this year as they roll out Newsletters in Outlook.
Newsletters in Outlook helps you create and send structured, professional newsletters quickly and easily from within Outlook. Using the new Outlook and Outlook for the Web, you’ll be able to create emails with a variety of rich elements and leverage built-in Outlook tools for management reader engagement. It will have built-in templates, imagery, collaborative editing features, and more – basically, what an internal communications and marketing team would want for internal communications without having to pay for a commercial service.
The feature is rolling out later this year and you can read more about it on Microsoft’s site.
