- Name, and title and what would you say you do here? My name is Bryan Gutierrez. I am a help desk consultant and I would say that I fix broken computer and network stuff.
- Hometown and how did you end up where you are? Born in Upland, CA. Grew up in Chino, CA and was raised in Riverside CA. I joined the Air Force, met my wife and started a family and since is from Central Oregon, she wanted to move back to be closer to family so they could help with the kids while we got out careers up and going.
- How did you end up at Weston? I got bamboozled. I thought I was going to end up at Velonex and then they said, “hey welcome to Weston! So here I am.” In all seriousness, I saw the job listing on indeed and I was trying to get back into IT so I polished up the resume and applied with my fingers crossed. I got lucky enough to be given the opportunity to grow here and I am extremely excited to get started and start contributing to the team. (Editor’s note to self: Change new team member biography fill-out form to say Velonex, since that’s our name now).
- Favorite part about Weston Velonex? I’ve only been here for a week, but so far it’s how friendly and approachable everyone has been. I have been made to feel very welcome by everyone, even Hank (even though he still barks at me sometimes). Editor’s Note: For the record, Hank is Eric’s dog, not a barking human. He sometimes likes to come hang out at the office with us. He’s big, loud, and lovably-dumb, but is super friendly, especially if you bring him treats.
- What do you do for fun in your spare time? Play video games with my wife and play all the different sports my kids like playing, even if they’re made-up ones.
- What do in your spare time that nobody would guess? I’m pretty boring. I’d say its watch romcom’s or even the reality tv “love” shows. Alone or with my wife…
- If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be? I think I’d like to witness a random day 30 years in the future just to see where I ended up and if I did right by my kids. So I can have the peace of mind of knowing that I did a good job.
- What chore do you absolutely hate doing? All of them. Chores are the biggest scam in all of human history. Even before taxes and insurance.
- If you had to pick one word to describe yourself, what would it be? Awkward
- If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet? Lionel Messi. He’s the reason I fell in love with soccer.
- Choose a movie title for the story of your life. The Chronicles of Bryan
- If there was a movie produced about your life, who would play you and why? Probably David Beckham because we’re both equally as handsome (some might say I’m even more handsome)
- What do you want to be when you grow up? Rich
- If you could have any one superpower, which would you choose? Teleport
- What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done in your life? Probably going to Thailand with my wife (we were still dating) without a phone that had actual service so we were just winging it for two weeks.
- If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not, living or dead, real or fictional, with whom would it be? Probably Iron Man
- If you woke up tomorrow as an animal, what animal would you choose to be and why? Capybara. Those things are cute
- What is the worst pet you have ever had? None. I’ve only had really good dogs and cats
- How do you get your caffeine? Coffee usually but sometimes I do bad things and drink energy drinks…
- What’s the strangest talent you have? What’s a talent? Probably that I can burp on command and burp the alphabet
- If you were on an island and could only bring three things, what would you bring? Unlimited food, perfect internet, gaming PC
- Where’s Waldo? Hiding
- A penguin walks through that door right now wearing a sombrero. What does he say and why is he here? He’s here to see me and says “hola amigo”
- If I opened your fridge, what would I see? Protein soda. Grapes. Energy drinks. Protein shakes
- Here’s $20. What are you going to do with it? Buy candy because I have a problem
- Favorite taco? Lengua tacos for the win.
